Q. -  What is the difference between a Predictive Dialer and an Auto Dialer?

A. - A predictive dialer is a telephone control system that automatically calls a list of telephone numbers in sequence and screens out no-answers, busy signals, answering machines, and disconnected numbers while predicting at what point a human caller will be able to handle the next call. Predictive dialers are commonly used for telemarketing, surveys, appointment confirmation, payment collection, and service follow-ups.  The phone calls you receive from "no one there" are often predictive dialer calls in which a manual caller isn't ready yet. Not to be confused with an auto dialer, a predictive dialer is programmed to predict when a human caller is available to pick up a call.

Auto Dialers are telephony devices having auto dialing or speed dialing capabilities. These are devices, which are capable of dialing a large number of people automatically through a database or are capable of randomly or sequentially dialing telephone numbers to deliver a unified message or messages. The term Auto Dialer is applicable to a wide range of products available in the market, such as auto dialer telephony computer,  voice-mail system and speed-dial system. Auto dialers are designed to make outbound calls. 

They utilize controlled voice activation to record answers to questions. This provides the prospect with a normal conversational environment or interactive environment whereby one can speak in a normal fashion without bothering about pressing buttons on the keypad. Auto dialers are meant to be creating qualified sales leads and finding pre-qualified prospects for your business. They can also effectively deliver a voice broadcasted to an answering machine or a live person. An autodialer can also be prompted by the person on the other side to record a message or transfer the person to a live agent.

Q. With all the new laws out against these kinds of autodialers aren't they more of a headache than they are worth.

A. - I cannot speak for other machines but the VoicePro Dialer is fully equipped to comply federal and state regulations. Q. – How do I know the VoicePro Dialer will ``work" (for me)?

A. - There is no such thing as everybody or nobody or never or alwaysPeople used to say things like ``I never talk to answering machines or voice mail", etc.  Total bunk!  If a telecomputer notified you that you had just won a car, you would surely listen.  True, most people WILL hang up.  On average, a range of 88% to 99% WILL hang up.  That's the purpose of all advertising, i.e. ``find the prospect that needs your product or service and eliminate all the rest".  You must look at the bright side; positive responses to the VoicePro Dialer are usually from 1% to 12% (or more).  Compare this with direct mail.  Typically from 98% to 99.5% will throw the mail piece away.  In fact, in the advertising industry, a direct mail campaign return (response) rate of ½% to 2% is considered to be goodThe bottom line is ``If you say something that INTERESTS the prospect, he or she WILL respond".  That is what it is ALL about; i.e. ``numbers"!

 

Q. -  How do I justify the cost?

A. -  As with any other business expense, the initial cost needs to be seen as a startup investment cost and needs to be amortized out. The time span in which one plans to amortize needs to be defined. Once this is defined, we need to divide the number of months by the total investment for the product. This will be the cost per  month.  If a quality 4-line system produces 80,000 contacts  per month, we divide 

 80,000 with the monthly cost. If the amortized monthly cost (including the 4-line phone cost) were $500, then $500 divided by 140,000 contacts would have a cost of 0.00357 cents per contact.
